Curbside Leaf & Yard Waste Collection Starts Tomorrow

Curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste collection will take place from Oct. 30 - Nov. 9, on regular recycling days.
Leaf and yard waste should be placed at the curb with recyclables on the regular recycling day, as indicated on the waste collection calendar with a leaf symbol.
Only Kraft (paper) bags of leaf and yard waste will be accepted. There is no bag limit, but bags must not weigh more than 40 lbs. (18 kg).

Flag Raising Ceremony Kicks Off Canada Games Torch Relay

The City of Thunder Bay joined other former Canada Games hosts across the nation in raising the Canada Games Flag at City Hall today. The simultaneous flag-raising also coincided with the lighting of the first ever Canada Games Torch at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The torch will be making its way across Canada and will land in Red Deer, Alberta in February to signify the start of the 2019 Canada Winter Games being held in that city.
